Taman Alam Matahari (TAM) is a dedicated eco-tourism campground located in the mountain highlands of Megamendung, Puncak Bogor, West Java. This destination offers an expansive natural retreat designed for standard tent camping, group gatherings, and modern campervan setups. Geographically nestled on the western ridge of Mount Paseban, the site spans roughly two hectares of open green fields. The park sits at an elevation that keeps the air brisk, clean, and misty, making it a primary escape for urban dwellers seeking a break from metropolitan crowds.

The location of the park forms a secure enclave bordered by natural water networks and pristine forests. The terrain is distinctly multi-tiered. It is carved into seven large, terraced grass lawns that accommodate diverse setup preferences. Because of its strategic positioning, visitors on the higher terraces enjoy views of Mount Salak. At night, the landscape changes to showcase a clear view of the city lights shimmering across the lowlands of Bogor.

Accessibility is one of the taman matahari standout features of TAM. The campground is fully vehicular-accessible, allowing cars and campervans to navigate directly onto designated camp zones. Paved paths connect the tiers, ensuring safe walking conditions for families and children.

The area serves as a central gateway to several waterfalls in the Cilember and Megamendung administrative zones. While it shares a region with the famous multi-tiered Curug Cilember complex, the park is directly connected to the Curug Panjang eco-tourism loop. The nearby Cirangrang River provides a steady flow of clear water, setting up opportunities for adventure activities right outside the campground gates.

Visitors can quickly transition from the green lawns into river-based excursions. The local streams and pools accommodate standard swimming, body rafting, and river trekking tours. The rock formations near Curug Panjang are secure for guided water exploration. This allows campers to mix relaxing camp activities with active physical trekking.

The park features a well-developed infrastructure designed to host both small families and large corporate gatherings of up to 2,000 participants. Essential amenities provided across the grounds include:

• Hygiene Facilities: Three distinct toilet complexes house 24 separate clean bathroom stalls to comfortably support peak weekend crowds.
• Power and Infrastructure: Electrical hookup points are installed across every camp tier, giving visitors steady access to charging and site lighting.
• Indoor Spaces: An expansive 800-square-meter wooden main hall (aula) serves as a protected area for indoor programs, catering, or emergency storm shelter.
• Secure Vehicle Parking: Dedicated parking zones are strategically distributed across three internal locations, with room to safely park up to 40 passenger vehicles.

The entry fees and equipment rentals remain highly competitive for the Puncak region. Standard entrance and camping tickets average IDR 65,000 per person, which covers camping access, electrical connection usage, vehicle gate passage, and direct entry to the local waterfalls.

For travelers who prefer to pack light, on-site gear rentals are available. A standard 5-person dome tent rents for approximately IDR 200,000. Optional add-ons can be selected to increase campsite comfort, such as full bedding sets for IDR 60,000, sleeping bags for IDR 30,000, and bundles of firewood for IDR 35,000 to set up evening campfires.
